Homemade Story Stones

I looked around on the internet to get some Story Stones for the classroom, but couldn't find anything that had a good range of nouns, so we made our own. The pictures don't have to be top quality, as long as they resemble something, your little monsters will love them! If your little monster thinks it's something other than what you intended, JUST RUN WITH IT- bear/dog, it doesn't matter- it's THEIR story!

We picked pictures that the kids have been most interested in the past month or so -
Sharks (Shark in the Dark)
Fire (building bomb fires)
and then added a few other pictures to help create a flowing, but crazy story!

The results have been just amazing- whether you do it as a group
activity or one on one, the language and the creative just flows out of the little monsters!

After paint has finish drying, cover stones with a light lair of PVA glue or Mod Podge to help the pictures stay on longer. Also, try and keep them away from water!

Watch them in action here:
